Steam: Mouse cursor shows the wrong symbol Steam requires Arial/Times New Roman fonts to open Store/Profile/Community pages Steam windows can be resized to 1x1 despite minimum size Steam games protected with Valve's CEG (Custom Executable Generation) DRM scheme fail game cache validation Multiple applications and games using 'Webkit' or 'Blink' web browser engine crash on startup ('Arial' and 'Times New Roman' font face name validation)

Steam 2010 version: tooltips popup even when the steam windows isn't top-active one Screen under Steam windows is not refreshing OS X cannot redirect steam:// URL to Steam.exe With the release of SDK 2013 (which works on OSX), I hope they port it.External screen resolution changes are not detected While it does load (after many crashes), it’s too broken to play. I haven’t tried Wineskin, but I did manage to get it to “work” by fiddling with the gameinfo.txt file. And that’s if the devs even plan on porting it.

If you’re dead set on playing BM on OSX and can’t get Wineskin to work, then you’ll just have to wait. And pretty much any other game that isn’t OSX compatible.

This also lets you play plenty of other HL2/2007 based mods that don’t work on OSX. I’ve been using Bootcamp since I bought my iMac and I haven’t had any major problems. Hi hoping someone can help, i have installed steamwine and done all steps upto the last one, i can see the black mesa game in my steam library (running windows steam through wineskin) but it wont let me play it, i click the button but nothing happens… although having known little about it until now i have been looking at bootcamp as an option, is this better/easier? will i have to re-download the files for windows? and are there any obvious risks to my computer because tbf every experience i have ever had with windows has been painfully infuriating… hence the fact i have had a mac since 2006 (although this one is much newer and shinierīootcamp is a lot easier! You’ll have to reinstall the 2007 SDK Base and the mod, but that’s really not a big deal. It has blindingly obvious gaps, or perhaps it is no longer relevant to the version of Wineskin that is currently available, either way, this guide is nearly worthless. I’m not trying to offend you, but your guide sucks.

for a limited time you can also get Windows 8 release preview for free. P.S.: as far as I can tell Bootcamp is the only way to play BMS natively on your mac. next, next, wait for the whole thing to download. sign in Steam, go to “Library”, select Black Mesa, Play.

install WineSkin from and open WineSkin Winery.Install WineSkin, create a wrapper (I suggest using a CXG engine), install Steam in it, install & copy SDK and BMS, enjoy! I wouldn’t even try with integrated graphics. if everything else fail you can always try bootcamp.īEWARE: graphics/cpu minimum requirements are very high i.e. BEWARE: playing it in OS X is NOT officially supported.
